Sweet Like Honey

I know where the sweet grass sways & the river whispers.

I know where the tree roots stretch, & the cherry blossoms bud.

I know where the sun rays speak through the leaves, & how the wind whispers.

I now taste how sweet the honey can be when I thought my diet was forever the bitter fruit of my past.

I see that you, too, know the bitterness, as you are what you eat.

I know you have tried to poison the nourishment I so rightfully deserve.

You have tried to pull the roots & burn the buds.

My world cannot be destroyed. My peace comes as powerful as your war.

Yet, I don’t want you to walk in a world where darkness knows no light. I urge you to find a world where I know now to be true.

I know you are envious of my reality, but I hope you know I did not stumble into it. Time nurtured it from the ground up.

I encourage you to tend to your wounds, but my remedy for you has expired.

My journey with you is permanently halted. I cannot lead down a path you valiantly steer away from.

Nevertheless, I hope one day you meet me where the sweet grass sways and the river whispers.
