Fashion Branding: The Works

For the final project in my Fashion Branding class, my group and I were assigned to create a sub-brand to help a struggling company better market to Millennials and Generation Z. We strategized and agreed it would be both interesting and fun to give Bath & Body Works a fresh rebrand.

While Bath & Body Works was hugely popular when we were younger, we felt it no longer resonates with a younger demographic. So, through collaboration and research, we created The Works: a three-line, clean-ingredient skincare brand designed to attract a new, younger audience to Bath & Body Works.

  • Research, Collaboration, Mintel, Statista, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

  • This project put a huge emphasis on research and collaboration. My group and I communicated our individual strengths and weaknesses to determine how we could divide the project tasks evenly and effectively.

My role was to gather inspiration for our sub-brand from other skincare brands, research key ingredients to be used in the line, and create a mood board in Adobe Photoshop to bring the visuals to life.

At the end, my group and I made sure the project was cohesive, engaging, and understandable to our audience.

  • In the end, we presented the final in front of the professor and the rest of the class. My group and I worked really hard to come up with the concept and showcase it effectively to the audience.

This class helped me realize that branding is something I’m not only passionate about but also something I’m genuinely good at. This project is one of my favorite finals in my college career. It was creative, easy to accomplish with my team, and a genuinely fun experience!
